Yes, there are several requirements for entry to Calibre programmes:

1. Your English level must be good enough to permit you to follow the specialist English course you have selected.

2. You need to provide details of your relevant prior learning, appropriate qualifications and suitable work experience (in your specialist field).

3. You must meet the visa requirements for entry to the UK to study the specialist programme that you have selected.  (If you are not able to obtain the  visa you require, please ask us about the potential for online study in your chosen specialist subject, as this may be possible).

For more detailed information about the entry requirements that may apply in your case, please send us a message using our enquiry form: www.calibre.work/contact

Duty of care and client care are at the heart of the Calibre ethos.  We aim to ensure that you are supported throughout your learning and career development journey.

The Calibre programme combines a specialist English course along with introduction to an appropriate employer / recruitment organisation plus support packages that provide you with input that will help you to adapt to a new role in your chosen specialist field in the UK.

One of our packages provides you with an intensive induction programme that is designed to complement any such programme that your employer may provide, but focusing more on the cultural adaptation perspective.

Although Calibre cannot complete your job application for you, we recommend what job opportunities are suitable for your experience, qualifications, skills sets and career aspirations, and those which are not appropriate, or, depending on your career development strategy, ones which may give you valuable experience to serve your longer term career path goals.

Yes, there is and it sets out mutual, two-way, obligations, assistance provided to you, and your rights and responsibilities in a structured way.

If you are eligible for Calibre membership and meet our eligibility criteria, we will invite you to become a Calibre client and email you the Calibre Client’s Terms & Conditions document, that includes practicalities such as listing services, exit clause, payment details, ‘force majeur’, duration of agreement, etc.

Can Calibre help, and if so how?

At the heart of the concept of Calibre is our aim to minimise friction points between overseas nationals employed in the UK public and private sectors, so that both sides understand more about the process and organisation / business culture, and the particular challenges overseas recruits can have compared to UK recruits, in some areas of living and working, and around rights and responsibilities of each side.

Certain of our programmes – Community Connect, Onboarding, etc. — are intended to minimise friction points and problems, but we also include signposting and how to deal with problems and complaints that you may have.  We aim to provide supportive guidance as part of some those courses.

Calibre also can act as a safety net if it is clear beyond all reasonable doubt that you need to consider another position with a different employer.  In extreme cases, we will assist in requesting that our partner recruitment organisation / employers search for alternative employment for you, if this is possible within the bounds of UK employment and visa legislation – and as long as you have complied with the conditions of the contract you have signed.
